The Spokane CAR visit the Campbell House, MAC, and VA

For a fun field trip, the Spokane CAR took  a tour of the Campbell House, all decorated up for Christmas.  The house is beautiful, and it was nice to be able to explore it at our leisure.

The girls enjoyed playing an impromptu game of charades, and then learning the secret recipe of the Campbell house sugar cookie!

After the Campbell House, we visited the Museum of Arts and Culture (MAC).

There were some interesting exhibits and we are looking forward to working on our project about museum artifacts.

Finally, we visited the VA Medical Center where we dropped off the donations we had collected, as well as the 50 Christmas cards we all signed.

Chris came and made a bit of a mess (at least he made most of it on a cookie sheet!)

He brought the girls mini dragons and they love them!

Wreaths Across America

Today the Spokane CAR, accompanied by the May Hutton Chapter DAR and Washington State Regent participated in the wreath laying ceremony for Wreaths Across America.

We baked three batches of cookies (pumpkin spice, peanut butter, and gingerbread) to take to share with the volunteers.  They were a big hit!

Hanukkah Party

We invited some good friends over for Hanukkah dinner.  We had a delicious traditional dinner with roast chicken and vegetables, latkes, applesauce, and challah!  Delicious!

We followed up our dinner with a game of dreidel.

Chris was hanging out in the tree!
