Mt. St. Helens Day

Each year about this time we visit Falls Park in Post Falls, Idaho.  This is the perfect time to find baby geese.  Our visit didn’t disappoint, we saw three families of geese, each of different ages.  They were super cute!

Honk Honk!

What cute little goslings!

I’ve never noticed this kind of pink cone before… very interesting!

Chrysalis and Volcano Fun

Yummy Eggs Benedict for breakfast, the girls LOVED it.
Cute frog legs and our caterpillars all turned into chrysalis!
Volcanoes at Mobius science school.
Playing with face paint!

Our volcanoes that we made out of salt dough that we will paint when they are dry, and the marmot puppets that we made.

Hermit Crabs, Frog, and Butterflies

Hermit crab life cycle at Mobius this week!  This guy sure is neat.

More playing and face painting, the girls love to be tigers!

The girls went on a bug hunt, complete with clipboard, note paper, camera, binoculars, magnifying glass, and butterfly net.

Frog and Toad activities

Butterfly journals and worksheets, and those caterpillars are growing like crazy!

Organizing the resources for the bugs, insects, and butterfly unit.

Frog Legs, Caterpillars, and May Day

Frog legs!!!

Dance lessons!

The caterpillars arrived, even though we aren’t ready to move on from our frog studies, we are excited to watch them grow!

Some kind friend delivered a May Day basket on our door.

We went to science school at Mobius and read, “A House for Hermit Crab” by Eric Carle.  Then the kids were able to decorate their own shells.  This was a really fun activity!

Mid May

How did we get to the middle of May already?  We've had lots of fun the last few weeks.  We've started studying bugs, insects, and butterflies (and our caterpillars are already chrysalis!).  Our tadpoles have back legs... so much has been happening, I can't wait to get caught up!
