Hmm... Summer just wont end! And we ARE NOT complaining!

Since my last post we have been camping to Glacier, went to the Kalispell Fair, been swimming a dozen times, spent the day in Riverfront park, I've been to Omak, Keller and to Missoula for another dahlia show...
The fun never ends around here!
I'll get the pictures sorted and up soon... Plus we are on our way to Seattle for Labor Day weekend.  Then its the start of the Spokane County Interstate Fair... so if I don't get caught up this week, it may be another month before I have time to post!

We've been having so much fun with our activities and thinking of new ones every day!

Week 2 Back From Camping

We came back to town and went to a street fair in one of the neighborhoods of town.
The girls had a lot of fun playing the games.

Once back home we did more traditional schoolwork.  Mazes!  The girls love these!!

The bunnies!

Week 2 of School and Camping

We fit in some school work during our camping trip with Grandma and Great Grandma.  We did some of our Kumon cutting and pasting pages, some workbook pages, and a variety of other "book work"  We also did our Ready2Read Unit 2 pages.
For a continuation of our Blueberries for Sal Saturday, we picked "blueberries "(Oregon Grapes) and listened to the "Kerplink, kerplank, kerplunk!" of the pails.

  Big Rock!
Spider web and hiking around the lake.
Shucking corn and having dinner.  Yum!
 Campfire
 Tired girls!
Leaving seeds for the squirrels.  Pretty girl!
What a busy week!

Missing Posts

Due to a poorly timed (and received) sinus and dual ear infection, I have not been blogging.  I'm hoping that since I'm feeling somewhat better today, I'll get caught up.  Ha Ha, right?  We'll see.

Our School Area

This post is part of the "Not" Back to School Blog Hop
Not Back to School Blog Hop

Our school areas tend to be all over the house.  When we are not outside, we spend most of our time in the living room and at the kitchen table.
Living room area and geography corner in the entry way.

 Supplies in the kitchen
We also have a playroom for the girls, it isn't quite finished, it still needs trim and to have the doors finished.  The table got moved upstairs to the living room.  So it's just sitting room in the reading corner, that we made out of a memory foam bed topper.
The bookshelf area and window seat, and the mural I painted on the opposite wall.

Sunday School? Not on purpose

 Swimming in the morning!
We were at a picnic and a Flicker hit the window and didn't survive.  It made a very interesting spur of the moment lesson for the girls.  We got to see the different kinds of feathers on the body and wings, the pattern of colors on the feathers and the claws.

It has a polka-dotted tummy! ~Selena

Sixth Day of School and it's Saturday!!! or Blueberries for Sal Saturday

Are we going to take a day off??? No, the girls want to learn!

Blueberry waffle bar for breakfast.  We taste tested frozen, fresh, dried, and canned blueberries.  They were all good!

Blueberry Grunt recipe from Lesson Pathways  A grunt is similar to a cobbler, a buckle, or a betty :)
Yummy!

 Daddy reading Blueberries for Sal
  Making blueberry pie with playdoh.

Dahlia observations.  "It's starting to look really sad."  The dahlia has drank 2 inches of water and the final measurement was made at 89 hours.
 Blueberry pie painting.
Meet Mr. Bones.  The girls have been asking a ton of questions about their bodies lately and wanting to know about their bones and the bones of the animals.  While at the Learning is Fun store, we bought a skeleton model.  We had fun building it!
While Abby did some written work, Selena played with Mr. Bones, checking out how the arms and legs work.

Evening chores :)
