Chicken Hatching Day 4

 Chicken Hatching Day 4

Candling the eggs on Day 4.

I accidentally dropped one of the eggs and it cracked, so we put it on a plate.  We could see the little heart beating.  You can see it in the video below.

Chicken Hatching Project

On February 20th, we began our Chicken Hatching Project.  We were generously offered an incubator from a friend, and got eggs from another friend that has chickens.  The girls are excited to learn about how chickens develop.

Marking the eggs so we can keep track of our turning.

Valentine Tea Party

Pancakes for breakfast again :)

Selena asked if she could host a Valentine's Party for her friends and family.  We discussed what she would have to do (invitations, decorations, food, favors, cleaning, etc), and discussed a budget ($25).  She went to Walmart and the Dollar Tree to pick up items for the party (ingredients for food, plates, napkins, plastic ware, favors).  Of Selena’s $25 budget, she spent $20.76!  With her extra money, she helped pay for lunch for Grandma, Great Grandma, Mommy, and Abby.  A couple of the items were left over from last year and a great little company called Hug A Bug Ink donated the teas.

The party was a huge success!  She had so much fun planning and having her party.  We didn't take pictures, but we had a candy heart bingo game to play.  Thank you Selena for planning such a fun party!
